Our Water Damage Restoration Service

I came home to a flooded basement, what’s next?

The key to having the least amount of flood damage possible is keeping a cool head and taking quick action. The first thing you should do before you go to work on getting everything out of the water is calling 1-800-Wet-Carpet in Arlington County. We are open 24 hours a day to help you with water damage restoration services as quickly as possible after disaster strikes. After you’ve made your call and we’re on our way, shut off your utilities to the house and if you think the house in unstable, leave the house at once. Avoid contact with water to the best of your ability while electricity is still flowing to your home — you don’t want you or anyone in your family being shocked.

Once we’ve arrived, we make sure to access the damage and create a plan of action. Once you understand and agree to the plan we move forward in the flood damage restoration process. Most of the time, the core processes are the same, the differences are in the details. We typically start by removing any flooded basement or house water so there is no more free-standing water. When the water is safely removed, we move to salvage as much furniture and structural material as possible to minimize the damage. An example of structural materials that we safely dispose of and replace are:

  • Carpet/flooring
  • Carpet pads
  • Insulation
  • Wood trimming
  • Baseboards
  • Drywall

Once all of the materials are safely out of the home, we get to work on the flood restoration and replacement. We replace all of the materials that were previously removed and substitute in higher quality materials so that your home will be just as strong as ever for years to come. We aim to leave your home in better condition that it was before it flooded.
